Acts 14
At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed. 2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. 3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders. 4 The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles. 5 There was a plot afoot among both Gentiles and Jews, together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them. 6 But they found out about it and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country,7 where they continued to preach the gospel.
We pray for all those we carry in our hearts. We pray for peace in all countries with war including and end to far right rioting in the UK, war in Gaza and Ukraine, for elections in the US and in France, for Iran, Afghanistan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Myanmar, for those working for peace and justice, for work to halt climate change, for refugees and asylum seekers, for the homeless, the hungry, the distressed. Spirit of the Living God be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen

A Iconium, Paul et Barnabas entrèrent comme d'habitude dans la synagogue juive. Là, ils parlèrent si bien qu'un grand nombre de Juifs et de Grecs crurent. 2 Mais les Juifs qui refusaient de croire excitèrent les autres païens et empoisonnèrent leurs esprits contre les frères. 3 Paul et Barnabas passèrent donc un certain temps là-bas, parlant avec assurance pour le Seigneur, qui confirmait la parole de sa grâce en leur permettant d’opérer des signes et des prodiges. 4 Les habitants de la ville étaient divisés : les uns se rangeaient du côté des Juifs, les autres du côté des apôtres. 5 Il y avait un complot entre les païens et les Juifs, ainsi que leurs chefs, pour les maltraiter et les lapider. 6 Mais ils l’apprirent et s’enfuirent vers les villes de Lycaon, à Lystre et à Derbe, et dans les environs,7 où ils continuèrent à prêcher l’Évangile.
Nous prions pour tous ceux que nous portons dans nos cœurs. Nous prions pour la paix dans tous les pays en guerre, Gaza et l’Ukraine, pour les élections aux États-Unis et en France, pour l’Iran, l’Afghanistan, le Soudan, l’Éthiopie, le Myanmar, pour ceux qui œuvrent pour la paix et la justice, pour les efforts visant à mettre fin au changement climatique, pour les réfugiés et les demandeurs d’asile, pour les sans-abri, les affamés, les affligés. Que l’Esprit du Dieu vivant soit à nos côtés en ce moment. Au nom de Jésus nous prions. Amen
