Spirit of God
You are the breath of creation
The wind of change
Speak through our thoughts and actions today
Song ”All creatures of our God”
Forgive us our closed minds
And break down the barricades of our hearts
So we can embrace new ways of being
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Psalm 42
My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
8 By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I say to God my Rock,
“Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?”
10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Saviour and my God.
We pray for all those we know who need our help and prayers who we carry in our hearts today.
For the families of refugees drowned in the Mediterranean, for Ukraine and Russia, for Palestine and Israel, Sudan, Yemen, Hong Kong, China, Syria, Thailand, our own country, for those confronting injustice, and pressing issues of climate change, for those who are hungry, homeless, distraught, for the many refugees throughout the world, for those on strike, for the homeless, our families and friends and ourselves…Spirit of the Living God present with us now enter our bodies, minds and spirits and heal us of all that harms us. Let your angels be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray.
In the depth of silence
No words are needed
We are just called to listen
To the movement of the Spirit
And in the midst of confusion
To hear your voice.
