For the light of the sun on my face
I humbly thank you
And offer my praise to you
Open my heart and my mind
Give me your presence
In the centre of my being today
Song “Christ be in my waking”
Loving God move us to comfort those we encounter.
Those held captive by their bodies or minds
Those facing hatred and intolerance
For those fleeing for their lives
For strangers in our lands
For those on dangerous journeys
For those in distress and without income
Melt our hard hearts to create welcome, justice and healing
Amen
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Psalm 36
Wrongdoing speaks to the ungodly within his heart;
There is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For it flatters him in his own eyes
Concerning the discovery of his wrongful deed and the hatred of it.
3 The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit;
He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
4 He plans wickedness on his bed;
He sets himself on a path that is not good;
He does not reject evil.
We pray for all those we know who need our help and prayers who we carry in our hearts today.
For France, the families of refugees killed in the Mediterranean, for Ukraine and Russia, for Israel and Palestine, Yemen, Myanmar, the Rohingyas, the Uyghurs, Hong Kong, Belarus, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Syria, Iran, the US, our own country, for doctors and nurses, carers, teachers, those confronting injustice, and pressing issues of climate change, for those who are distraught, for the many refugees, for those on strike, for the homeless, our families and friends and ourselves…Spirit of the Living God present with us now enter our bodies, minds and spirits and heal us of all that harms us. Let your angels be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray.
Song “How can I keep from singing”
This is the day that God has made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
I will not offer to God
Offerings that cost me nothing
I will go in Peace
To love and serve the Lord
Amen
