I call on the clarity of God
To meet me in my confusion
I call on the mercy of God
To meet me in my brokenness
God in our meeting
God in our parting.
Song “Lord from sorrows deep”
We call on the power of God
To meet us in our helplessness
God in our thinking
God in our speaking
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Reading Psalm 33
Sing for joy in the Lord, you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.
2 Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.
3 Sing to Him a new song;
Play skilfully with a shout of joy.
4 For the word of the Lord is right,
And all His work is done in faithfulness.
5 He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
We pray for all those we carry in our hearts.
For the asylum seekers and refugees throughout the world and for those who lost their lives in the Mediterranean this week; for those awaiting deportation, for the families of those shot in Nottingham, for Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Palestine, Yemen and Saudi Arabia, for Afghanistan and Iran, for Myanmar, the Rohingyas, for China and the Uyghurs, for Hong Kong and Taiwan, for Belarus, for Eritrea and Ethiopia, for Syria, for the US, for our own country, doctors and nurses, carers, teachers, those confronting injustice, and pressing issues of climate change, for our families and friends and ourselves…Spirit of the Living God present with us now enter our bodies, minds and spirits and heal us of all that harms us. Let your angels be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray.
Song “Lead kindly light”
The cross we shall take it
The bread we shall share it
The gospel we shall live it
The love we shall give it
The light we shall cherish it
The darkness God shall perish it.
Amen.
