Matthew 2v1-12
2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.”
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
We pray for people and situations that are on our heart today ...
For staff in hospitals dealing with constant crisis, for those waiting for ambulances and medical care, for all those on strike, for those who cannot afford to heat their homes because of rocketing energy prices, for those who cannot afford food because of rocketing food prices, for those who are vulnerable with Covid, for Ukraine, for Russia, for Syria, for Iran, for Hong Kong, Taiwan, for China, for people who are lonely, for people who are hungry, for people suffering from war, for people imprisoned, for people suffering because of climate change, for the vulnerable and those who are sick and those who are dying, for the homeless, for asylum seekers and refugees, for our government to make the right decisions, and finally for the children who we must give a better future.
May we not fail you though I face great dangers.
Give me your peace, your wisdom and your strength. Amen

2 Depois que Jesus nasceu em Belém da Judéia, no tempo do rei Herodes, magos do Oriente vieram a Jerusalém 2 e perguntaram: “Onde está aquele que nasceu rei dos judeus? Vimos sua estrela quando ela nasceu e viemos adorá-lo”.
3 Quando o rei Herodes ouviu isso, ele ficou perturbado, e toda Jerusalém com ele. 4 Depois de reunir todos os principais sacerdotes e mestres da lei do povo, perguntou-lhes onde havia de nascer o Messias. 5 “Em Belém da Judéia”, responderam eles, “pois assim escreveu o profeta:

9 Depois de terem ouvido o rei, seguiram seu caminho, e a estrela que tinham visto ao nascer ia adiante deles até parar sobre o lugar onde estava o menino. 10 Quando eles viram a estrela, ficaram muito felizes. 11 Chegando à casa, viram o menino com Maria, sua mãe, e prostraram-se e o adoraram. Então eles abriram seus tesouros e o presentearam com ouro, incenso e mirra. 12 E, avisados em sonho para não voltarem a Herodes, voltaram para a sua terra por outro caminho.
Oramos por pessoas e situações que estão em nosso coração hoje...
Para os funcionários dos hospitais que lidam com crises constantes, para aqueles que esperam por ambulâncias e atendimento médico, para todos os que estão em greve, para aqueles que não podem pagar pelo aquecimento de suas casas por causa da disparada dos preços da energia, para aqueles que não podem pagar pela comida por causa da disparada dos preços dos alimentos , para os vulneráveis com a Covid, para a Ucrânia, para a Rússia, para a Síria, para o Irã, para Hong Kong, Taiwan, para a China, para as pessoas solitárias, para as pessoas que passam fome, para as pessoas que sofrem com a guerra, para as pessoas encarcerados, pelas pessoas que sofrem por causa das mudanças climáticas, pelos vulneráveis e pelos doentes e moribundos, pelos sem-teto, pelos requerentes de asilo e refugiados, para que nosso governo tome as decisões corretas e, finalmente, pelas crianças que nós deve dar um futuro melhor.

Matthäus 2v1-12
2 Nachdem Jesus in Bethlehem in Judäa geboren worden war, kamen zur Zeit des Königs Herodes Sterndeuter aus dem Osten nach Jerusalem 2 und fragten: „Wo ist der neugeborene König der Juden? Wir haben seinen Stern gesehen, als er aufging, und sind gekommen, um ihn anzubeten.“

der mein Volk Israel weiden wird.“
7 Herodes rief daraufhin heimlich die Heiligen Drei Könige zu sich und erfuhr von ihnen die genaue Zeit, zu der der Stern erschienen war. 8 Er schickte sie nach Bethlehem und sagte: »Geht und sucht sorgfältig nach dem Kind. Sobald du ihn gefunden hast, melde dich bei mir, damit auch ich hingehen und ihn anbeten kann.“
9 Nachdem sie den König gehört hatten, gingen sie weiter, und der Stern, den sie gesehen hatten, als er aufging, ging ihnen voraus, bis er über der Stelle stehen blieb, wo das Kind war. 10 Als sie den Stern sahen, waren sie überglücklich. 11 Als sie ins Haus kamen, sahen sie das Kind mit seiner Mutter Maria, und sie warfen sich nieder und beteten es an. Dann öffneten sie ihre Schätze und überreichten ihm Geschenke aus Gold, Weihrauch und Myrrhe. 12 Und nachdem sie im Traum gewarnt worden waren, nicht zu Herodes zurückzukehren, kehrten sie auf einem anderen Weg in ihr Land zurück.
Wir beten für Menschen und Situationen, die uns heute am Herzen liegen ...
Für Mitarbeiter in Krankenhäusern, die mit ständigen Krisen zu kämpfen haben, für diejenigen, die auf Krankenwagen und medizinische Versorgung warten, für alle Streikenden, für diejenigen, die es sich wegen explodierender Energiepreise nicht leisten können, ihre Häuser zu heizen, für diejenigen, die sich wegen explodierender Lebensmittelpreise keine Lebensmittel leisten können , für diejenigen, die durch Covid gefährdet sind, für die Ukraine, für Russland, für Syrien, für den Iran, für Hongkong, Taiwan, für China, für Menschen, die einsam sind, für Menschen, die Hunger haben, für Menschen, die unter Krieg leiden, für Menschen Inhaftierten, für die Menschen, die unter dem Klimawandel leiden, für die Schwachen und Kranken und Sterbenden, für die Obdachlosen, für Asylsuchende und Flüchtlinge, für unsere Regierung, damit sie die richtigen Entscheidungen trifft, und schließlich für die Kinder, die wir sind muss eine bessere Zukunft geben.
