A candle is lit.
We light a candle for hope, sending
prayers high into the inky heavens and
dreams deep into our human soul.

Reading Isaiah 63 v7-9
I will make mention of the mercies of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord,
According to all that the Lord has granted us,
And the great goodness toward the house of Israel,
Which He has granted them according to His compassion
And according to the abundance of His mercies.
8 For He said, “Certainly they are My people,
Sons who will not deal falsely.”
So He became their Saviour.
9 In all their distress He was distressed,
And the angel of His presence saved them;
In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them,
And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.
We pray for all those we know who need our help and prayers who we carry in our hearts today. For Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan, for Syria, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Belarus, Ethiopia, Yemen, Gaza, our burning world and those dealing with the fires, for leaders to act on climate change, for all with Covid today and their families, doctors and nurses, carers, teachers, those confronting injustice, for the many refugees, our own country, our families and friends and ourselves. Spirit of the Living God be present with us. Let your angels be beside us at this time. In Jesus Name we pray.
Come Holy God
Send your Spirit
To make us brave
And show us what to do
To build your world
Of love and justice
And to care for the earth
You entrusted to us. Amen
