Come Holy Child
Stir in the womb of my complacency
Shepherd me
Whisper through my life
Be born in us today
Song “Medieval Carols”
Prayer for Gods help
Forgive me
When I choose the wrong way
Restore me
Help me to have compassion for myself and others
To create a world that is good and just
And to carry your dream within me
The Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Reading Psalm 68
May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
Our Prayers
We pray for people and situations that are on our hearts today ...
And for people stranded in the UK, Brexit, lockdown, schools and hospitals, the rolling out of a vaccine, Hong Kong, Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Thailand, Nigeria, Palestine, our governments, the Rohinga Muslims, Muslims being persecuted in China, protection for key workers, protection for Black and Asian people, for people on low or no incomes, for those with underlying health conditions and those over 60, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression, protection for asylum seekers and refugees and ensuring that food is reaching the vulnerable…and global warming.
May we not fail you though we face great dangers.
Give us your peace, your wisdom and your strength. Amen
Closing Responses
In our watching and in our waiting
Come Lord Jesus
In our hopes and our fears
Come Lord Jesus
In our homes and in our world
Come Lord Jesus
When least expected.
