Prayers 10th December 2020,

Come Holy Child

Stir in the womb of our complacency

Shepherd us

Whisper through our lives

Be born in us today

Prayer for Gods help

Forgive me

When I choose the wrong way

Restore me

Help me to have compassion for myself and others

To create a world that is good and just

And to carry your dream within me

The Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Reading Psalm 64

All people will fear;
    they will proclaim the works of God
    and ponder what he has done.

10 The righteous will rejoice in the Lord
    and take refuge in him;
    all the upright in heart will glory in him!

Our Prayers

We pray for people and situations that are on our hearts today ongoing lockdown, those in schools and hospitals, the hope of a vaccine, Hong Kong, Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Palestine, our governments, the Rohinga Muslims, Muslims being persecuted in China, protection for key workers, protection for Black and Asian people, for people on low or no incomes, for those with underlying health conditions and those over 60, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression, protection for asylum seekers and refugees and ensuring that food is reaching the vulnerable…and global warming.

May we not fail you though we face great dangers.

Give us your peace, your wisdom and your strength. Amen

Closing Responses

In our watching and in our waiting

Come Lord Jesus

In our hopes and our fears

Come Lord Jesus

In our homes and in our world

Come Lord Jesus

When least expected.
