Morning prayers 3rd December 2020,

God

whose name is love

Help us to love

Without condition

And to love even ourselves

Prayer for Gods help

Forgive us

When we choose the wrong way

Restore us

Help us to have compassion for ourselves and others

To create a world that is good and just

And to carry your dream within us

The Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Reading Psalm 25

Turn to me and be gracious to me,
For I am lonely and afflicted.
17The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
Bring me out of my distresses.
18 Look at my misery and my trouble,
And forgive all my sins.
19 Look at my enemies, for they are many,
And they hate me with violent hatred.
20 Guard my soul and save me;
Do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness protect me,
For I wait for You.
22 Redeem Israel, God,
From all his distress.

Our Prayers

We pray for people and situations that are on our hearts today ongoing lockdown, those in schools and hospitals, the hope of a vaccine, Hong Kong, Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Palestine, our governments, the Rohinga Muslims, Muslims being persecuted in China, protection for key workers, protection for Black and Asian people, for people on low or no incomes, for those with underlying health conditions and those over 60, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression, protection for asylum seekers and refugees and ensuring that food is reaching the vulnerable…and global warming.

May we not fail you though we face great dangers.

Give us your peace, your wisdom and your strength. Amen

Closing Responses

In our watching and in our waiting

Come Lord Jesus

In our hopes and our fears

Come Lord Jesus

In our homes and in our world

Come Lord Jesus

Come Lord Jesus, when least expected.
