Morning prayers 30th November 2020,

The desert will sing and rejoice

And the wilderness blossom with flowers

All will see the Lord's splendour,

See the greatness of the Lord

Tell everyone who is anxious

Be strong and dont be afraid.

Prayer for Gods help

Forgive us

We often choose the wrong way

Restore us

Help us to have compassion for ourselves and others

To create a world that is good and just

And to carry your dream within us

The Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Reading 1 Thessalonians 5

But since we are of the light, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you also are doing.

Our Prayers

We pray for people and situations that are on our hearts today including the US, the new vaccine for Covid, ongoing lockdown, those in schools and hospitals, Hong Kong, Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia, our governments, the Rohinga Muslims, Muslims being persecuted in China, protection for key workers, protection for Black and Asian people, for people on low or no incomes, for those with underlying health conditions and those over 60, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression, protection for asylum seekers and refugees and ensuring that food is reaching the vulnerable…and global warming.

May we not fail you though we face great dangers.

Give us your peace, your wisdom and your strength. Amen

Closing Responses

In our watching and in our waiting

Come Lord Jesus

In our hopes and our fears

Come Lord Jesus

In our homes and in our world

Come Lord Jesus

Come Lord Jesus, when least expected.
