We stand
Against injustice
And hope for a better world
Where everyone is housed
And fed
A world of abundance
Bless us on that journey
Song “A touching place”
You entrusted the earth to us
And we have destroyed it
The forests are burning
Animals are dying
Our world is sick
Forgive us
Restore our vision and help us to act bravely to save this precious world
We say the Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Reading Psalm 17 v1
Hear a just cause, Lord, give Your attention to my cry;
Listen to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.
2 Let my judgment come forth from Your presence;
Let Your eyes look with integrity.
3 You have put my heart to the test;
You have visited me by night;
You have sifted me and You find nothing;
My intent is that my mouth will not offend.
4 As for the works of mankind, by the word of Your lips
I have kept from the ways of the violent.
5 My steps have held to Your paths.
My feet have not slipped.
6 I have called upon You, for You will answer me, God;
Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech.
7 Show Your wonderful faithfulness,
Saviour of those who take refuge at Your right hand
From those who rise up against them.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye;
Hide me in the shadow of Your wings
9 From the wicked who deal violently with me,
Our prayers
We pray tonight for the US for peace, those in lockdown, for children and teaching staff, for doctors and health workers, for people who are isolated and exhausted, for wise decisions by government, for the people of Bolivia, Belarus, Syria, Yemen, Armenia, Thailand, Nigeria and Hong Kong, for the UK and for those countries we never hear about, and those we know who need our help and prayers and who we carry in our hearts tonight.
Send your Spirit to heal bodies, minds and spirits and help people to turn away from what harms them. Let your angels be beside them and us at this time and protect us. In Jesus Name we pray.
Closing Responses
Bless to us
The moon that is above us
The earth that is beneath us
Friends and family around us
Your image within us
And the rest that is before us.
Amen.
