Prayer for Gods help

Loving God

Come into our confused and troubled lives

Send your Spirit

To work in us

Realign us

So that we may know

You in our lives

Your joy, your peace, your Shalom

The Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Reading Acts 20

When the uproar had ended, Paul sent for the disciplesand, after encouraging them, said goodbye and set out for Macedonia. He traveled through that area, speaking many words of encouragement to the people, and finally arrived in Greece, where he stayed three months. Because some Jews had plotted against him just as he was about to sail for Syria,he decided to go back through Macedonia. He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia. These men went on ahead and waited for us at Troas. But we sailed from Philippi after the Festival of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven days.

Our Prayers

We pray for people and situations we are concerned about including BLM, the continuing deaths from Covid 19, the government, the lockdown easing in schools, key workers, PPE, and protection for BME people, people on low or no incomes, those with underlying health conditions and those over 60, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression and ensuring food is reaching the vulnerable and global warming.

Ending with…May we not fail them Amen

Closing Responses

This is the day that God has made

We will rejoice and be glad in it

We will not offer to God

Offerings that cost us nothing

We will go in Peace

To love and serve the Lord

Amen
