Open our hearts and our minds
To your Spirit
And give us your presence
In our life today
Song “Sing a New Song”
Prayer for Gods help
Loving God
Come into our confused and troubled lives
Send your Spirit
To work in us
Realign us
So that we may know
Your Spirit in our lives
Your joy, your peace, your Shalom
The Lord’s Prayer in our own language
Reading John 16v25-33
“Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is comingwhen I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. In that day you will ask in my name.I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”
Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”
“Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Our Prayers
We pray for people and situations we are concerned about including the ongoing arrest after the murder of George Floyd, high deaths from Covid 19, the government, the lockdown easing in schools, key workers, PPE, and protection for BME people, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression and ensuring food is reaching the vulnerable.
Ending with…May we not fail them Amen
Song “Let your living waters"
Closing Responses
This is the day that God has made
We will rejoice and be glad in it
We will not offer to God
Offerings that cost us nothing
Go in Peace
To love and serve the Lord
Amen
