Morning prayers 4th June 2020

We thank you for morning Light
And offer our praises to you
Open our hearts and our minds
To your Spirit
And give us your presence
In our life today

Song “Be thou my vision”

Prayer for Gods help

Loving God
Come into our confused and troubled lives
Send your Spirit
To work in us
Realign us
So that we may know
Your Spirit in our lives
Your joy, your peace, your Shalom

The Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Reading Acts 11v19-26
19 Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed travelled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, spreading the word only among Jews. 20 Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus. 21 The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
22 News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
Our Prayers
We pray for people and situations we are concerned about including the murder of George Floyd, high deaths from Covid 19, the government, the lockdown easing in schools, key workers, PPE, and protection for BME people, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression and ensuring food is reaching the vulnerable.

Ending with…May we not fail them Amen

Song
““As I went down to the river to pray”

Closing Responses

This is the day that God has made
We will rejoice and be glad in it
We will not offer to God
Offerings that cost us nothing
Go in Peace
To love and serve the Lord
Amen
