Prayer for Gods help

Loving God

Come into our confused and troubled lives

Send your Spirit

To work in us

Realign us

So that we may know

Your Spirit in our lives

Your joy, your peace, your Shalom

The Lord’s Prayer in our own language

Reading Acts 14 v8-13

In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!”At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.

11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!” 12 Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker. 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.

Our Prayers

We pray for people and situations we are concerned about including the BLM, high deaths from Covid 19, the government, the lockdown easing in schools, key workers, PPE, and protection for BME people, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression and ensuring food is reaching the vulnerable and the urgent need to address global warming.

Ending with…May we not fail them Amen

Closing Responses

This is the day that God has made

We will rejoice and be glad in it

We will not offer to God

Offerings that cost us nothing

Go in Peace

To love and serve the Lord

Amen
