Morning prayers 7th May 2020

If the Lords disciples keep silent
These very stones would shout aloud
God open our lips
And our mouths shall show forth your praise

Prayer for Gods help

Make me a clean heart
And renew a right Spirit within me
Give us again our joy

The Lord’s Prayer in your own language

Reading Acts 4v36-37
36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.

Intercessions

We pray for people and situations we are concerned about including key workers, the ongoing lack of PPE in hospitals and care homes and everywhere, and protection for BME people, care for those who are alone and those suffering with depression and ensuring food is reaching the vulnerable.

Ending with…May they not fail you, nor we fail them Amen

Song “My Jesus, my saviour”

Closing Responses

When we are despairing and see no way ahead
Roll back the stone!
When we are frightened and fear for our life
Roll back the stone!
When we are hungry, thirsty and need shelter
Roll back the stone!
When we need a miracle to change our lives
Roll back the stone!
